Sixth Year Certificate (SYC) in School Counseling
The SYC for School Counseling requires 30 graduate level credit hours post-masters counseling degree, including clinical courses, and completion of requirements as outlined on an individual plan of study. The SYC degree is intended to provide an opportunity to obtain additional specialized qualifications within the counseling profession. This is a path for certified school counselors to take the additional coursework needed to be eligible for Licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut.
