For a 30-credit major in philosophy, students complete the following:

|Select one 200-level Philosophy course||3|
|Select one of the following courses which provide an intensive study of a major philosopher and emphasize primary sources:||3|
|Select five additional 200- or 300-level elective courses in Philosophy 1||15|
|PH 0399||Capstone Experience 2||3|
At least three of these courses must be 300-level Philosophy courses. Two of these courses may be 200- or 300-level Applied Ethics courses.
The capstone is required for students in the Class of 2021 and later. For students in the Class of 2020 and earlier, a sixth elective course in philosophy is required.
