Understanding the brain is one of the last and most challenging frontiers of science. Our brain functioning determines what we see, hear, know, think, or feel. Starting with the molecular and cellular machinery of neurons and the anatomy of the nervous system, the course proceeds through the neural basis of sensation, perception, memory, emotion, language, sexual behavior, drug addiction, depression, schizophrenia, etc. The enormous strides made by neuroscience in the last several decades show every sign of continuing and increasing; this course provides the foundation upon which a thorough understanding of brain-behavior relationships can be built. Previously Offered as PSYC 1610
